LAMBA alumni clubs and the MGO | ELLO Cannabis Alliance present an expert panel to share their experiences and insights into the booming cannabis industry. Our moderator, Wharton Alum Evan Eneman, CEO of ELLO Holdings will host a panel of guests as they discuss topline details of working in the cannabis industry, a review of key roles/disciplines within cannabis firms & the opportunity to network with cannabis companies & industry recruiter(s), all seeking talent and investments.

This exciting evening will cover topics such as:

Hershel Gerson (UCLA)

  • CEO, Managing Director, ELLO Capital, the first US based cannabis investment bank
  • Focuses on strategic advisory, raising capital, & mergers and acquisitions for the cannabis industry
  • Over 20 years of success in investment banking, M&A and private equity
  • Former leadership roles at Macquarie Capital, Causeforce, BNP Paribas, and Credit Suisse


Ariel Clark (Berkley School of Law)

  • Managing Partner, Clark Neubert LLP, California’s top women-owned cannabis law firm
  • Advises cannabis, hemp, and CBD companies on all aspects of corporate structuring, regulatory compliance, licensing and permitting, and a myriad of other legal challenges in her role as outside general counsel
  • Founded the Los Angeles Cannabis Task Force, which was instrumental in the passage of Measure M, authorizing the creation of a legal, regulated cannabis industry in Los Angeles


Ken Alston, (Columbia University)

  • CEO, Hydroponics, a national provider of agricultural supplies and logistics specific to the cannabis and hemp industries
  • Oversees all growth and expansion for Hydroponics since acquiring the company in 2018.
  • Previous Executive Chairman of Eventide Risk Management and former CEO of MedVision
  • Guest lecturer on entrepreneurship at the University of Southern California.


Roman Stahl (Wharton)

  • Director of Corporate Development, Canndescent, the #1 top-shelf flower brand in California
  • Responsible for geographical expansion efforts, exploring strategic partnerships, supporting capital market efforts and other critical business functions
  • Previous leadership role at Citibank in Public Finance division, supporting municipalities to finance projects through the issuance of muni bonds
